An access controller is a professional element for perimeter and door protection. It is located in secure and hidden places, allowing the connection of readers, which are positioned in visible areas of the installation to identify the user seeking access, as well as the connection to electronic locks that will be activated if the user is permitted access.
This controller supports readers based on the Wiegand protocol, which allows direct wiring from each reader to the controller. It features 4 readers for entry and exit at each door and supports biometric readers, which connect via RS485 and allow cascading BUS connections. By supporting RS485, it also supports OSDP on the same connector, with the latter being customizable in configuration and allowing up to 4 readers through this method.
The controllers enable the management of multiple doors simultaneously through several relay outputs. This model has 2 relay outputs, which can be configured as normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contacts.
By using an access controller, it is possible to secure certain functions such as opening all doors upon receiving a fire signal or activating an alarm upon the detection of a forced door. Thanks to its inputs and outputs, managing these functions becomes simpler.
Configurable advanced functions: anti-passback technology (prevents a person from passing if they are already inside), turnstiles (a double-door system that allows one person to pass at a time), or occupancy control (prevents access to more users once a predetermined number is exceeded).
User, schedule, and access group configuration, as well as special functions, relay opening times, or reader reading times, are managed through the iVMS-4200 software.
